Return to power and second reign
Despite being overthrown, Achoris managed to return to power in 392 BC. AD, after gathering forces and overthrowing Psammetichus II. During his second reign, Achôris strove to strengthen the independence of Egypt and to repel foreign threats, in particular those of the Persians and the Greeks.
Achôris also undertook construction and restoration projects, such as the renovation of the temple of Karnak and the construction of a new temple dedicated to the sun god. Ra. These efforts were aimed at enhancing the prestige of the monarchy and restoring the greatness of Egypt.
End of reign and posterity
The reign of Achoris ended in 380 BC. AD, when he was succeeded by Nepherites II. Although his dynasty was followed by the XXXe dynasty, Achôris' efforts to restore Egypt's greatness and preserve its independence are considered significant in Egyptian history.
