Ptolemy I, also known as Ptolemy Soter, was a Greek general who became the founder and first pharaoh of the dynasty ugly in Egypt. His reign lasted from 305 BC. AD to 283 BC. BC and was marked by a series of conquests and political, military and cultural achievements.
