The reign of Takelot III: An eventful period
During his reign, Takelot III faced many challenges, one of the most significant of which was the conflict with the XXII Dynasty of Tanis for control of Lower Egypt. Despite the complex situation and the tensions, Takelot III succeeded in maintaining a certain stability during his governance.
Traces of his reign: Archaeological discoveries
Several proofs of the existence and reign of Takelot III have been discovered by archaeologists, including statues and stelae bearing his name. Among these discoveries, there is a black granite statue representing Takelot III in the company of the god Horus, currently kept in the Louvre Museum in Paris.
Moreover, his name was found on a stele at Coptos, describing a donation made by the king to a temple. These discoveries helped to establish more firmly the reign of Takelot III in the history of ancient Egypt.
Takélot III: A figure of resistance
Despite the many challenges he had to face, Takelot III was able to maintain a certain cohesion within his kingdom. His reign, although marked by conflict, testifies to a desire to resist internal and external pressures. Although many aspects of his reign remain to be discovered, Takelot III remains an important figure of the XXIII Dynasty, a king who knew how to navigate the turbulent waters of Egyptian history.
