Nestled in the region of Thebes, on the west bank of the Nile, the Valley of the Queens, an essential archaeological site of ancient Egypt, where the queens, princesses of the New Empire (18th to 20th dynasty). Comprised of more than 80 tombs, the Valley of the Queens offers a fascinating insight into the lives and beliefs of members of the Egyptian royal family and elite.
Among the most famous tombs is that of Nefertari, wife of Ramses II, which is considered one of the finest examples of ancient Egyptian funerary art.
